G-Shock Casio Watch

G-Shock is known for its toughness and durability. G-Shock was produced by Casio in 1983. Casio produced the world’s first digital watch that displayed a digital automatic calendar function and eliminated the need to reset the calendar due to the variation in the length of the month. This watch was launched in 1974 and was known as CASIOTRON. The CASIOTRON won acclaim as a groundbreaking product that represented a complete departure from the conventional wristwatch.

This shock-resistant structure was designed to be the toughest by employing a hollow structure, in which the module is floated to prevent any direct shocks. All-directional protective covering is provided by a full urethane bezel to protect it from any shock. Extra protection is provided with a cushioning material for the critical parts such as the crystal oscillator inside the module. This resulted in explosive sales in the early 1990s.
